The manufacturing PMI and PPI in China have stabilized in recent months. It appears that the second largest economy has avoided "hard-landing" even if the government lowers its GDP growth target to 6.5% this year.
At the same time, there is speculation that "trade wars" may arise between China and other countries. The Trump's administration supported protectionism since election, and the THAAD has increased tension between China and Korea.
We are honoured to co-organize with The Alumni Association of Postgraduates in Economics of CUHK invite Dr. Zhang Ning (張寧博士), Economist of UBS Investment Bank, to share his thoughts on China economic outlook and how Donald Trump's Administration affects China.
Dr. Zhang got his PHD in economics in CUHK. Before his current work in UBS as a China economist, Dr. Zhang worked in China Investment Corporation (China’s SWF), where he covered economic and policy research of emerging market including China. His profession definitely helps providing insights to China economy. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about China in 2017.
