|What is tri-sector leadership? On 13 March, over 60 senior executives and social entrepreneurs attended the first of three workshops at the CUHK Business School Town Centre to find the answer.
Organisations striving to achieve impact at scale are most successful when they leverage the strengths of the non-profit, for-profit and government sectors. The ‘Tri-Sector Leadership In Action’ workshop was created by the Social Angel Program, a social enterprise team from the EMBA Alumni Association. By encouraging tri-sector thinking amongst participants from the public, private and social fields, it equips them with the skills needed to navigate between them.
The workshop was led by Mr. Howard Ling, Senior Consultant of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service - HSBC Social Enterprise Business Centre. Mr. Ling enlightened participants with his vast knowledge and the use of relevant case studies. He also discussed the relationship between tri-sector leadership and social entrepreneurship, as well as the importance of understanding different viewpoints. In addition, he spoke about the skills required to bridge gaps while balancing the interests of multiple stakeholders and emphasised the value of empathy in leaders.
The second and third workshops in the series are scheduled for April and May and require participants to share their ideas through team presentations. To learn more about the activities of the EMBA Alumni Association, please visit their Facebook Page here.
