Highlights: With its 81 chapters and 5,748 words, the book of Lao Tsu has been an important monograph in Chinese culture.

Professor Wing-tsit Chan, a renowned Chinese Scholar, once wrote in the preface of his book on Lao Tsu, “No one can understand China or to be an intelligent citizen of the world without some knowledge of the Lao Tsu, also called the Tao Te Ching (The Classic of the Way and its Virtue), for it has modified Chinese Life and thoughts throughout history and become an integral part of the world literature. Therefore any new light on it, however little, should prove to be helpful.“

Tao undertakes no action, and yet nothing is left undone (Chap. 48 of Lao Tsu). With this message in mind, The BBA Alumni Association of CUHK is honored to invite Mr. Shih Wing Ching, the founder, chairman and CEO of the Centaline Group, to share with us his understanding of Lao Tsu and its application to management of complexity.

As one of the business leaders in Hong Kong, Mr. Shih often shares his opinions on current affairs, management philosophy and philosophy of life. His sharing is welcomed by citizens from all walks of life. Mr. Shih has studied Lao Tsu for years and our talk is definitely a great opportunity to learn about his idea and findings. No matter you read Lao Tsu before or not, don’t miss the chance to learn more about the wisdom of this classic and how it can be applied to complexity management! Registration will be served on first-come- first-serve basis.
