It is beyond doubt that the rise of the mainland economy has continued to bolster the growth of the Hong Kong market. To facilitate the listing of issuers from the emerging and innovative sectors, the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited will be implementing new rules and expanding Hong Kong’s listing regime. How will these affect the city’s stock market and status as an international financial centre?
Mr. Christopher Hui, Managing Director and Head of Project Management for Market Development at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, was the guest speaker invited by the MBA Alumni Association to deliver a talk entitled “The Evolution of the Hong Kong Capital Market: Past, Present and Future”. The event was held on 9 April in the CUHK Business School Town Centre.
Joining Mr. Hui for his talk were over 40 MBA alumni spanning different generations. His insights on the evolution of cross-border integration were penetrating, eliciting keen interest among his audience. The talk was further enriched by Business School Dean Prof. Kalok Chan’s commentary, which added astute observations on Mr. Hui’s presentation. The audience came away with a better understanding of the Connect Ecosystem and the New Board Concept Paper Consultation.
