A Rewarding Day of Exercise and Giving to Orbis

Mar 12, 2018

Early spring is a great time for hiking in support of charity! On Sunday, 4 March, a group of enthusiastic MBA alumni and their families was brought together by the MBA Alumni Association to join the Orbis Walk for Sight 2018. The event is in its 19th year and asks kind-hearted donors and their families to enjoy a scenic stroll to help blind children in need of care.

The energetic MBA team gathered with over 3,000 participants at Hong Kong International School, the official starting point for both the 6k family run and the 10k challenge. Our MBA walkers chose the 10k route trekking through scenic Tai Tam Country Park and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the southern part of Hong Kong Island. After a leisurely 3-hour walk, participants and their families attended a carnival filled with bouncy castles, performances, game booths and live music.

All funds raised will go toward providing eye care services in more than 30 hospitals in Asia and Africa. Mr. Raymond Chan, Vice President (Charity) of the MBA Alumni Association, was a participant and thanked fellow alumni for supporting the meaningful initiative. “It was a really rewarding day of exercise and charitable giving that was greatly enjoyed by alumni and their families.”
