AA Series | New council of the Quantitative Finance Alumni Association assumes office

The CUHK Quantitative Finance Alumni Association (QFIN AA) is devoted to strengthening connections among alumni from the QFIN programme worldwide with their alma mater while supporting their personal and professional development. The new council, Agnes Fong (QFIN 2018) as the president, has assumed office in May this year. Together with a dynamic team of young committee members, Agnes is actively planning a diverse array of events designed to serve the alumni community.

Dialogue with the president

Q1. Can you give us a brief introduction of yourself?

I joined Citi Private Bank as a private banker in 2018, specialising in providing comprehensive financial services to high-net-worth clients and family offices. My work encompasses asset management, investment strategies, tax planning, legal consultations, and estate planning, etc.

Q2. What are QFIN AA’s vision and plan in 2024/25?

QFIN AA is dedicated to cultivating a vibrant, supportive, and collaborative alumni community and envision a vital bridge between QFIN alumni and their alma mater, facilitating the exchange of information regarding the latest developments at CUHK and CUHK Business School, and updates about our alumni.

In 2024/25, our primary focus will be on:

&nbsp

  • Enhancing alumni connections: We will continuously update our alumni database to establish more effective networking mechanisms. By leveraging both online and in-person channels, we intend to regularly host alumni gatherings, seminars, workshops, and other events designed to deepen mutual understanding and foster meaningful relationships.
  • Empowering career development: We will offer comprehensive career planning and counselling services to assist young alumni in navigating market challenges and seizing development opportunities. Furthermore, we aim to strengthen inter-industry collaborations to create more internship and employment opportunities for our alumni and students.

Q3. Do you have any messages for QFIN alumni?

Stay connected: We encourage our alumni to actively engage with the QFIN AA and their alma mater by participating in various events. We look forward to fostering meaningful exchanges and strengthening connections within our community together!

Share your expertise: We invite alumni to share their professional insights and experiences, providing valuable feedback and suggestions that will contribute to the ongoing development of the QFIN programme.

Pass on our spirit: We hope alumni will embody and promote the values of our alma mater by sharing their success stories with younger peers and fellow alumni.
