Q1. Could you briefly describe your current job scope or responsibilities?
I currently work as a personal development coach for MBA candidates in a business school in Switzerland. My role is to support MBA candidates to develop the capacity to reflect and to access their inner resources in times of change and challenges at the crossroad of their life. By doing so, I aim to equip them with the confidence and readiness needed to embark on their careers successfully.
In my private practice, I work with adults facing personal development and mental health challenges, as well as younger adults transitioning into independence and navigating career choices.
Q2. Please describe Switzerland in three words.
Scenic: Switzerland captivates visitors (even us living here for years!) from around the world with its stunning landscapes, mountains, lakes and picturesque towns.
Diversity: Switzerland is a multilingual country which contributes to its cultural richness cultural richness. Also, the country has a mix of influences from its neighbouring countries, resulting in a unique blend of traditions and customs.
Efficient: Switzerland is renowned for its efficient and well-organised systems, whether in transportation, governance, or public services. Swiss people also take pride in their punctuality, precision, and dedication to quality.
Q3. Which industry do you see as having strong business potential in Switzerland?
Switzerland’s healthcare industry has developed comprehensively and has consistently maintained a leading position. In recent years, there has been an increasing emphasis on mental health, aiming to achieve a holistic balance of physical and mental well-being. Simultaneously, the World Health Organisation (WHO) actively collaborates with member states and partners to advance well-being in the context of global health and creating resilient and sustainable communities as well. I truly hope that the focus on individual well-being will continue to gain momentum in my hometown, Hong Kong, as well.
Q4. What is the one thing you miss the most during your study at CUHK Business School?
I fondly reminisce about the lemon pie from the “med canteen” in the old days! Its unique, refreshing, and citrusy flavour is unmatched, leaving me unable to find a similar taste anywhere else. It’s not just the flavour that I miss, but also the cherished company of my friends and the precious memories we shared, making the taste truly unforgettable!
