    Q1. Could you briefly describe your current role?

    I am employed in the Principal Investment Team of Samsung Securities, which is one of the leading investment banks in Korea and a subsidiary of Samsung. My role entails investing in ventures at the Series A to Pre-IPO stages, as well as engaging in M&A or buyout transactions using Samsung’s proprietary capital.

     

    Q2. Please describe Seoul in three words.

    Fast-growing: Seoul boasts a rapidly expanding financial market, attracting the interest of venture capitalists towards renowned unicorn ventures.

    Coexistent: Seoul is a mega city where tradition and modernity harmoniously coexist. As the longstanding capital of South Korea, Seoul embraces its rich history, resulting in the convergence of traditional sites like Bukchon Hanok villages and contemporary architectural marvels.

    Bustling: With a population exceeding 10 million, Seoul is a bustling metropolis that never rests. The city is perpetually in motion, with bustling streets, crowded public transportation, and a vibrant, fast-paced way of life.

     

    Q3. Which industry do you see strong business potential in Seoul and why?

    I see great potential in the venture capital and private equity industry in South Korea. The government’s policies and the presence of tech giants like Samsung and SK Hynix have led to the rapid growth of ventures with their own technology.

     

    Q4. What is the one thing you miss the most during your study at CUHK Business School, and that you look forward to doing again?

    During my time at CUHK Business School, I truly miss the networking opportunities and conversations with alumni working in the financial market in Hong Kong. I am excited to reconnect with them and engage in meaningful discussions once again.
