Synopsis

The Hong Kong Construction Industry has been facing challenges such as high construction costs and labour shortages. To tackle the problem, the HKSAR Government has encouraged the widespread adoption of innovative technologies to enhance time and quality, resolve the labour shortage, and improve productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Ir Dr. Conrad Wong (EMBA 1998) is passionate about green building technologies, Building Information Modeling (BIM), modular and precast construction, and manufacturing automation. Since 2017, Ir Dr. Wong has been putting great effort into developing various robotic and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications for the construction industry.

In this seminar, Ir Dr. Wong would like to share with the audience the recent techniques, mainly, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence which are implementing or developing to increase productivity in the Hong Kong Construction Industry.

About the Speaker
Ir Dr. Conrad Wong (EMBA 1998) is a professional engineer with over 30 years of building construction experience. He is the Vice Chairman of Yau Lee Holdings Limited (HKEX:0406).

Ir Dr. Wong is the Chairman of the Council of the Hong Kong Metropolitan University, the Chairman of the New Energy Transport Fund Steering Committee, the Member of the Energy Advisory Committee and the Member of the Town Planning Board. In the past, Ir Dr. Wong served as the Deputy Chairman of the Vocational Training Council, the Chairman of the Occupational Safety and Health Council, the Chairman of the Hong Kong Green Building Council and the President of the Hong Kong Construction Association.
