A wonderful group photo of over 600 attendees taken in Shenzhen Poly Theatre after watching the drama My Love
During the Easter holiday, over 600 alumni from around the world gathered for the “Global Alumni Reunion”. The reunion event, which was part of a series of festivities celebrating CUHK’s 55th anniversary, took place on 19 and 20 April. It was organised by the Federation of Alumni Associations of CUHK.
Many alumni at the event were from the Business School. Ms. Florence Lai, the Business School’s Alumni and Corporate Affairs Director, was excited to be in attendance. She was thrilled to meet those who had studied at the Business School and now live as far away as Canada, the US and Europe. “It is a golden opportunity not only to welcome back our global alumni to their alma mater, but also to get together and celebrate this important anniversary through a range of well-organised activities,” she said.
The packed itinerary for the event included a tour to CUHK campuses in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, as well as networking lunches and dinners. The highlight of the two-day event was a performance of the drama My Love at Shenzhen Poly Theatre. Shenzhen was the fourth location in the show’s tour, after Hong Kong, Vancouver and Beijing. Over the course of all its performances, the show has raised over HK$150 million to support CUHK’s teaching and research, as well as to promote literature and art.
Alumni then returned to Hong Kong for a finale dinner at ClubONE Riviera. It was a pleasant evening that created lasting memories and happy moments, and signified a new milestone for CUHK in its proud 55-year history.
