Postgraduate Students Thrilled to Start Anew as In-person Orientation Resumes
The new academic year of 2021-2022 commenced with glee as students can finally greet one another on campus. In view of the pandemic’s stabilising situation and with ardent efforts of the faculty and supporting staff, various postgraduate programmes at the CUHK Business School have resumed face-to-face orientation to welcome the new blood to our community. Our students are more excited than ever to be able to connect with everyone again and enjoy their upcoming university life.
Different postgraduate programmes including Master of Accountancy, MSc in Real Estate, MSc in Management, MSc in Information and Technology Management, MBA, EMBA and FMBA have organised comprehensive orientation activities since late August to prepare our freshmen for a great start.
Master of Accountancy (MAcc) programme invited alumni to join the orientation and lead small groups of new students as they participated in various fun activities such as ice-breaking games and campus hunt.
MSc in Real Estate (MSc in RE) programme organised a three-day orientation camp with team building activities, career briefing and workshops focusing on academic integrity and presentation skills. Students were divided into teams as they explored commercial real estate development project cases in Hong Kong.
MSc in Management (MiM) programme has had their orientation day held on 11 August. Programme Director Professor Dora Lau welcomed the new cohort and encouraged them to make the most of the year ahead. The new students spent an informative and enjoyable afternoon together with bright hopes for a successful future.
MSc in Information and Technology Management (MSc in ITM) programme organised orientation to share details of the programme and study life in CUHK. There will be other team building workshops in September for students to get to know their peers from both part-time and full-time mode.
MBA programme organised orientation activities including Quant Bootcamp, academic workshops and mini-MBA lectures for new students to meet their classmates and equip them with practical knowledge. Exposure to co-curricular activities and networking opportunities further enhance their understanding of the hustle journey ahead. To create strong bonding among new students around the globe, most activities are conducted in hybrid format.
EMBA programme hosted its Residence Week in Sha Tin on 20 - 25 August. Focused on corporation management, all sessions were designed to introduce new students to each other and develop their bonding via intensive team-building, problem solving and creative activities.
CUHK-Tsinghua FMBA programme organised orientation sessions in both Shenzhen and Beijing respectively, with a series of activities including opening ceremony, day camp and informative sessions.
The grand opening of this academic year continues as new students roll up their sleeves for their academic pursuits ahead. We would like to express our most heartfelt welcome to these bright sparks, and look forward to forging a closer CUHK Business School community.
