A night of blossoming bonds: Over a hundred alumni gathered for Happy Hour @Shanghai
In the vibrant month of May in Shanghai, the blossoming scenery beckoned alumni to reunite. The “Alumni Happy Hour @Shanghai” event, organised by the CUHK Business School Alumni Office, brought together over a hundred alumni from 13 different programmes. Among them were recent graduates and alumni who travelled all the way from other cities to partake in the gathering. It was an occasion of cherished camaraderie, where old bonds were rekindled and new connections forged, as memories of their shared academic journey at the university were fondly recalled. During his address, Professor Zhou Lin , dean of CUHK Business School, highlighted the meaningful choice of venue, a restaurant named Overlaps, which aptly encapsulates the shared essence between Hong Kong and Shanghai. He emphasised the dedication of alumni who tirelessly foster connections within the business school alumni community, further strengthening the enduring bond between the two cities. The success of this event owes much to the active participation of alumni residing in Shanghai and its neighbouring regions, as well as the steadfast support of the CUHK Business School Shanghai Alumni Association. Serving as a local alumni platform, under the leadership of president Remy Chan (IBBA 1993) and the dedicated committee members, the association has orchestrated numerous events to foster connections among alumni in Shanghai, thereby nurturing a stronger sense of belonging with their alma mater. Among the alumni in attendance were first-time participants Anda Jiang (MScBA 2021) and Zhao Qianyi (MScBA 2022), with Qianyi specifically travelled from Hangzhou to Shanghai via high-speed train for the event. Former classmates during middle school, they were pleasantly surprised to discover their shared alma mater, CUHK Business School, during the gathering, expressing both astonishment and delight. They found the Happy Hour event to be an invaluable occasion to connect with senior alumni from various programmes and graduating classes, eagerly anticipating future engagements. Seizing the moment, alumni captured numerous group photos together, ensuring the event’s fond memories endure. For the full album of the event, please click HERE. Please continue to stay engaged with our alumni events and connect with fellow alumni! Together, let’s forge a stronger CUHK Business School alumni community and create more enduring memories.
