Two generations of MBA programme office celebrate a legacy of excellence

Behind CUHK Business School’s six decades of achievement stand countless unsung heroes who gave selflessly of their time and talent. In early September, representatives from the Alumni Office and the MBA Programme Office were privileged to meet with legendary figures of the MBA community – Mrs Nora Lau, former administrative head, and Professor Nyaw Mee-kau, programme director in the 1990s – and hear their treasured recollections of life and work at CUHK Business School.

Fondly known as the “living encyclopedia of the MBA”, Mrs Lau joined the programme team in its founding year of 1966, serving the MBA community for four decades and witnessing its growth and transformation. Professor Nyaw, meanwhile, was a student in the second MBA intake. After completing his first year, he continued his studies abroad and went on to become programme director in the 1990s.

Their conversation spanned the early days at the Inter-university Hall and the Leung Kau Kui Building, filled with anecdotes that remain as fresh today as they were decades ago. MBA Programme Office representatives also took the opportunity to learn from Mrs Lau’s experiences and looked forward to further gatherings in the future.
