MBA Virtual Information Session & Sample Class: Modern Applications of Accounting in Blockchain and AI Technologies
Accounting has been described as the language of business. In this sample class by Prof. Wan Wongsunwai, we will explore how traditional accounting concepts underlie modern inventions such as bitcoin, blockchains and NFTs. We will also illustrate the usefulness of accounting information in assessing businesses in new fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) with an example of SenseTime’s IPO. Join now to experience how the CUHK MBA equips students with accounting and financial literacy for sound management planning and decision making.
Prof. Wan worked as an equity analyst with ABN AMRO Bank in Hong Kong, and he was ranked by Reuters as one of the top 10 analysts in Hong Kong and Mainland China covering software and information technology. He also worked with KPMG in London followed by PricewaterhouseCoopers in Hong Kong, where he managed his own portfolio of audit and due diligence clients. Prof. Wan obtained his doctorate from Harvard Business School and, prior to joining CUHK, taught MBA classes at Kellogg School of Management and INSEAD.
In this session, our admissions staff will also share an overview of our curriculum and co-curricular activities, career and alumni support, admission requirements, scholarships and financial support.
