MBA Speaker Event: Latest Fintech Trends and Outlook in Hong Kong

The CUHK MBA Programmes Office has invited Mr. Raymond Chan, Managing Director of Fuyuan Global, to speak on the “Latest Fintech Trends and Outlook in Hong Kong”. Mr. Raymond Chan is well-known as the founder of the first virtual bank, inMotion by CITIC Bank, launched in Hong Kong before any virtual bank licenses were issued. He led the Bank to successfully persuade the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) to change related laws to make eKYC possible. His contributions enabled the first-ever remote account opening in Hong Kong without branch visits, wet signatures and address proof.

While Raymond is a seasoned practitioner in banking and fintech including virtual banking, eKYC, eID, Open API, mobile payment and cross-border banking, he also actively serves in community such as Fintech Award Assessment Panel of Hong Kong ICT Awards, Chairman of the AI Committee in Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia, Fintech Specialist Group (FTSG) EXCO Member of Hong Kong Computer Society, Financial Technology Advisory Panel of The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers and Fintech Committee of Smart City Consortium.

During the event, Mr. Chan will introduce the latest developments and hot topics on Fintech, virtual bank business model, roadmaps and who will win.
