    Marking its 10th anniversary, the CUHK EMBA Alumni Association (EMBA AA) remains a cornerstone of the EMBA community, fostering collaboration, professional development, and enduring connections among alumni. Alan Lai (EMBA 2017), the association’s president, outlines its vision for 2024/25 and invites alumni to actively participate, contribute, and celebrate the shared achievements of this thriving network.

    Q1. Can you give us a brief introduction of yourself?

    I am the CEO of Pet Space Group, the largest veterinary clinic group in Hong Kong, and the founder of Champs Legacy, a Hong Kong Jockey Club-approved retraining and rehoming stable for retired racehorses in Burgundy, France. I also founded The CLINIC, a startup established with my EMBA classmates back in 2016.

     

    Q2. What are EMBA AA’s vision and plans for 2024/25?

    This year marks the 10th anniversary of the EMBA AA, and it is also the year of the Olympics. We look forward to harnessing the positive Olympic spirit to further strengthen our sports teams, including dragon boat, trailwalker, and tennis teams. Through sports, we believe we can enhance our networking opportunities, both internally and externally.

    Thanks to our Executive Committee, we have introduced a digital membership card this year, allowing alumni to apply for and redeem a variety of benefits with retail and service providers across Hong Kong. Most importantly, this initiative helps our alumni stay connected with our events and activities throughout the year.

     

    Q3. What role do you think the EMBA AA plays within the wider alumni community?

    The alumni network of the CUHK EMBA programme is one of its most distinctive and valuable assets. The EMBA AA plays a crucial role in keeping our alumni connected while also serving as a talent acquisition arm for the programme, helping to attract and recruit potential future candidates to join our community.
