GAA News | Bridging memories and new beginnings: Business School alumni gathering in NYC

As the summer sun warmed the season of connections, three Global Alumni Ambassadors (GAAs) from CUHK Business School — Sudhakar Paramanandhem (PDGF 2012), Ivy Chio (PACC 2011), and Fion Wan (PACC 2002) — hosted a memorable gathering for local alumni in New York and New Jersey in the middle of July. This vibrant gathering unfolded over a delightful dim sum feast, uniting a diverse group of alumni from various programmes, graduation years, and industries.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for alumni to reconnect, share experiences, and discuss the challenges of life in the “Big Apple”. As they reminisced about their time in Hong Kong, fond campus memories emerged, with CUHK’s unique canteen food standing out as a particularly cherished highlight.

Quite some attendees had supported the 60th anniversary celebration in New York by the Business School’s alumni office last year, which added a sense of continuity and camaraderie to the evening. Connections deepened and a supportive network was strengthened.

Looking ahead, the group is eager to keep the connections alive and is already planning their next get-together. They are excited about the idea of a picnic in Central Park to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in October — an event that is sure to be great fun!
