“Meet the New Dean” Reception

Fellow alumni gathered in the Town Centre on 8 January to meet the new Dean of CUHK Business School, Prof. Lin Zhou, for the first time. It was a relaxed and enjoyable evening for alumni and faculty members to make new contacts and catch up with old friends.
Amid the refreshing food and drinks on offer, the highlight came when Prof. Zhou delivered his first welcome remarks to Hong Kong alumni since assuming his post at the Business School just one month ago. He expressed his excitement about joining the CUHK family and how much he was looking forward to contributing through his knowledge and experience of running business schools for over 10 years. “I want CUHK Business School to be one of the leading business schools not only in Asia, but the entire world. To this end, we will continue taking a proactive stance towards the challenges ahead by strengthening collaboration with our stakeholders on all fronts,” he said.
Following his remarks, Prof. Zhou led a toast to express his appreciation for the alumni’s dedicated support and commitment over the years, which earned heated applause.
“I’m glad to see so many alumni and friends at this happy event. This is my first opportunity to meet you here in Hong Kong, and I look forward to seeing even more of our fellow alumni at our forthcoming events,” he remarked.
Organised by the Alumni and Corporate Affairs Office, the reception provided a comfortable setting for the new Dean to greet alumni in Hong Kong for the first time. Ms. Florence Lai, Alumni and Corporate Affairs Director, remarked, “I’m glad to have witnessed such a fruitful event tonight, thanks to the support of our fellow alumni. It truly demonstrated the strength of our extensive alumni network.”
