Lunch & Learn Series | Alexis Chiu (IBBA 1997) from Saatchi & Saatchi offers students a behind-the-scenes look at the 4As world

The Lunch & Learn with C-Suite Alumni series, organised by the CUHK Business School Alumni Office, recently held its third successful session. We were honoured to have Mr Alexis Chiu (IBBA 1997), Chairman of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of Hong Kong (HK4As) and Group Managing Director of Saatchi & Saatchi Hong Kong, host the event.

Alexis welcomed students from the MSc in Marketing programme to the agency’s offices, offering them an insider’s tour and engaging in an enriching dialogue over lunch.

Speaking as a proud CUHK Business School alumnus, Alexis generously shared insights from his extensive experience in the advertising world. He walked students through a number of iconic campaigns he has led, discussed current industry trends, and offered thoughtful, practical guidance on career development. Alexis emphasised that aspiring professionals in advertising must consistently generate fresh ideas and creative concepts, approaching daily challenges with a can-do attitude. Passionate about nurturing talent, he reflected, “What keeps my love for this industry alive is the constant human interaction, the ever-changing challenges, and the excitement of staying creative.”

Students came away with valuable knowledge not only about the inner workings of the advertising industry, but also inspired by Alexis’ journey and candid advice — making for a truly rewarding experience.
