Q1. Could you briefly describe your current job scope or responsibilities?
I’m a Senior Quantitative Analyst at Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL). My primary focus is on quantitative risk models. Serving as the second line of defence, my responsibility involves validating and scrutinising the models developed by our team of modellers.
Q2. Please describe Luxembourg in three words.
International, tranquil, respectful.
Luxembourg exudes an international and expat-friendly atmosphere. Despite its small size, the country offers a tranquil environment and convenient connectivity to neighbouring countries. Moreover, the core value of respect is deeply rooted in Luxembourg’s culture, fostering a friendly community where local people are nice and treat one another with respect.
Q3. Which industry do you see strong business potential in Luxembourg and why?
In my opinion, fund, banking and space industries have strong business potential in Luxembourg. With a diverse range of financial institutions, including banks, investment funds, and asset management companies, Luxembourg offers a thriving ecosystem for the fund and banking industry. On the other hand, Luxembourg has actively invested in the development of space industry. The government’s favourable regulations and incentives have attracted a growing number of space and satellite companies to set up operations in Luxembourg.
Q4. What is the one thing you miss the most during your study at CUHK Business School, and that you look forward to doing again?
I treasured the support I received from the School and our alumni network. In return, I’d like to offer my support to fellow alumni who may find themselves in Luxembourg!
