Current Job Former Senior Specialist, PwC

Q1. Could you briefly describe your job scope?

I worked at the Financial Crime Unit of PwC specialising in anti-money laundering (AML). AML is a popular area in recent years because of the tightened compliance requirements in western countries. My role was to help our client bank fulfil regulatory requirements mandated by the government.

Q2. 3 words to describe your life in Canada and why?

The city of London in the province of Ontario in Canada is a forest city, full of green and leisure spaces as well as opportunities.

London got its name because trees are abundant here. The vibrant greenery gives us a pleasant living environment, and the pace of life is a bit slower compared to other big cities nearby like Toronto, which is just at a 2-hour drive away and is packed with high-rise buildings. We are blessed that the proximity with metropolitan cities also causes an influx of jobs and opportunities here.

Q3. Which industry do you see strong business potential in Canada and why?

Construction industry.

A growing number of immigrants in Canada in recent years creates a strong demand for properties. More and more people want to buy their own residential units and settle in, so there is an urge for the industry to keep up with the booming market.

Q4. What is the one thing you miss the most during your study in CUHK Business School?

I missed spending time with friends in the campus and dining in canteens (though there weren’t many options back then). As simple as that, those are fond memories that I still cherish after so many years.
